Dr. Michelle "Elle" Bach is a psychiatry resident and bioethics researcher at Emory School of Medicine. After years collaborating on the CDC's Meningitis Vaccine Project and volunteering in free clinics for Atlanta's unhoused population, Elle recognized that ethical inquiry is vital for the just use of medical technologies. She completed her MA and PhD in Health Care Ethics at Saint Louis University, specializing in disability studies and psychiatric ethics. She also completed her MD at Saint Louis University and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society before matching to the Emory Psychiatry Research Tract. She is thrilled to have fulfilled her dream to be a psychiatrist at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Her current scholarship focuses on the ethics of informed consent in psychedelics research trials and the effects of psychedelic use on families. She is also developing scholarship on pediatric psychedelic research. She blends theoretical bioethics research with empirical methods. Elle has previously served as an American Fellow with the American Association of University Women and now acts as a Professional Fellow at the Emory Center for Ethics.
