Keenan Davis is a bioethicist and MD/PhD student with research experience in medical ethics, psychiatric phenomenology, anthropology of ethics, cognitive science, medical education, and Jewish studies. As an undergraduate at the University of Virginia, he studied neuroscience and Jewish studies, graduating with highest distinction. He then served as a corps member of Teach for America – Metro Atlanta, where he taught high school sciences and math. Keenan went on to complete his MA in bioethics through Emory University's Center for Ethics, with a thesis analyzing the ethics of emerging neurotechnologies. Most recently, Keenan’s doctoral dissertation and ongoing research projects explore patients’ ethical and existential experiences undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) in the treatment of their refractory depression. He is currently involved in research on the combination of psychedelics with neuromodulation devices in the treatment of psychiatric conditions as well as informed consent procedures in psychedelics clinical trials.
