Joyelle Van Eron

Joyelle Van Eron, MPH, is a clinical research coordinator in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Global Studies and French, with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies as well as the pre-medical track, from Washington University in St. Louis in 2023.
She moved to Georgia to pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Global Health with a certificate in Maternal and Child Health at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, graduating in 2025. During her MPH program, she worked with the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia and served as an editorial assistant for the CDC's Travelers' Health Branch on the CDC Yellow Book 2026.
After completing her graduate studies, Joyelle joined Emory's Mood and Anxiety Disorders program, where she currently acts as a lead and assisting coordinator on clinical trials across multiple phases, including studies with Schedule 1 drugs for mood disorders, including adjustment disorder following serious medical illness diagnoses. Her prior experience in research includes investigating health literacy disparities, African American maternal mortality, and employment rights after experiencing stillbirth.
With a background in qualitative research methods, Joyelle also served as a teaching assistant to Dr. Monique Hennink, an expert in qualitative research. Using her expertise, Joyelle is now working on analyzing qualitative data from previous studies in the Mood and Anxiety Disorders program.
